Women’s Basketball Defeats Penn State Brandywine 81-35

Widener never trailed against Penn State Brandywine in an 81-35 victory in its first home contest tonight at Schwartz Center.
 
At halftime, Widener (3-0) held a 47-13 lead over the Lady Lions (1-1). In the first half, Kate Dellinger (Wrightsville, PA) led the team with 11 points with Lil Carney (Narberth, PA) and Jennifer Egee (Ridley Park, PA) each getting 10. Widener shot 50 percent in field goals (17-of-34), 3-pointers (7-of-14) and free throws (6-for-12) and also had 12 steals amongst eight different players.
 
In the second half, the Pride outscored Penn State Brandywine 34-22. For the game, Egee led the team with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Widener picked up 50 rebounds to Penn State's 34, had seven blocked shots and also added three more steals in the second half.
 
Widener is home against Elizabethtown on Wednesday, November 28 for its first Commonwealth Conference game, beginning at 6:00 pm.
