Volleyball Rolls to 3-0 Sweep at Hood

Widener took early control of its Commonwealth Conference match at Hood and cruised to a 3-0 victory (25-10, 25-10, 25-20) in Frederick, MD.

Widener (11-11, 3-2 CC) in the first set had 13 kills and just two errors for a .367 hitting percentage with Hood (6-8, 0-3 CC) amassing a .000 percentage. The Pride in the second set had a .200 percentage and forced the Mustangs into a -.121 percentage.

Senior Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) had 11 kills and only two errors over 19 attacks for a solid .474 hitting percentage. Sophomore Kaitlin Schnalzer (Bethlehem, PA) recorded a .500 percentage and junior Veronica Vizzard (Havertown, PA) added a .400 percentage for the Pride, who closed with 35 kills and only 12 errors.

Junior Maggie Greenberg (Meadowbrook, PA) dished 26 assists and senior Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) added 11 digs for Widener, which has won seven of its last 10 matches.

Kathryn Jones totaled 18 assists and Brittany Lethbridge compiled 13 digs for Hood.

Widener on Saturday plays in the Middle Atlantic Conference Crossover in Mechanicsburg, PA against DeSales at 10:00 am and Eastern at 12:30 pm.
