Volleyball Closes Regular Season With 3-0 Victory at Alvernia

Widener had no trouble with Alvernia as it ended the regular season with a 3-0 Commonwealth Conference triumph (25-11, 25-13, 25-21) in Reading, PA.
 
Widener had 10 kills in the first set and notched 15 in the second to go with only two errors.  Alvernia was beset by a -.070 hitting percentage in the first set and only a .022 mark in the second.
 
Senior Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) posted eight kills and 20 digs, Veronica Vizzard (Havertown, PA) pounded eight kills, fellow junior Maggie Greenberg (Meadowbrook, PA) notched 30 assists and senior Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) amassed 17 digs for the Pride.
 
Liz Newman had nine kills, Tori Beck posted 18 assists and 12 digs with Amy Dziura totaling 12 digs for the Crusaders (11-16, 3-6 CC).
 
Widener (16-15, 6-3) clinched the fourth seed for the conference tournament and will host fifth-seeded Lycoming (20-9, 5-4) in the first round on Monday, starting at 7:00 pm.  It will be the Pride's second home conference tournament match in program history after hosting Lebanon Valley in last year's semifinals.
