Widener put forth a game effort against third-ranked Messiah, only to be handed a tough 1-0 overtime loss in Commonwealth Conference play in Grantham, PA.

Widener (7-7-2, 4-2-1 CC) rode the solid play of junior goalkeeper Jakub Valdner (Bratislava, Slovakia), who made six saves that included five in the second half.  The Pride had a chance to win in overtime, but freshman Ross Staudt (Marlton, NJ) has his shot saved by Brandon West just two minutes in.

The Falcons (15-0-1, 7-0) scored 7:20 into overtime when Jeremy Payne took a feed from Jack Thompson and fired one inside the right post.

Joshua Wood took seven shots and Thompson had five for Messiah.
