Meghan Spence Becomes Career Digs Leader in Volleyball's 3-0 Loss at Swarthmore

Widener's battle with Swarthmore in the “320 Challenge” resulted in a 3-0 setback (15-25, 22-25, 20-25) in Swarthmore, PA.

 
Senior Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) had nine kills and 12 digs, Jessica Dembeck (Philadelphia, PA) recorded eight kills and junior Maggie Greenberg (Meadowbrook, PA) dished 32 assists for the Pride (13-13).
 
Senior Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) and sophomore Victoria Miller (West Chester, PA) notched 14 digs apiece and junior Stephanie Schutt (Tucson, AZ) added 10 for Widener.

With her 14 digs, Spence became the school's career leader with 2,639.  She passes Maggie Caramanico (2002-05), who closed with 2,631.

 
Kathryn Montemurro had 10 kills and 18 digs with Allison Coleman adding 14 assists and 10 digs for the Garnet (13-4).  Samantha Dubois posted 17 assists and Danielle Sullivan contributed 17 digs.
 
Widener hits the road Wednesday for a big Commonwealth Conference match at Messiah, beginning at 7:00 pm in Mechanicsburg, PA.
