Men's Soccer Loses To No. 1 Messiah, 6-1

Widener took a loss in its Commonwealth Conference opener to Messiah, 6-1, at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.

Widener goalkeeper, Dan Price (Norristown, PA) made eight saves on the night. Anthony Pezzotti (Newtown Square, PA) took two shots and Kevin Martin (Havertown, PA), Joe Brydges (Philadelphia, PA), and Matt Parrotta (Torrington, CT) each took one. Parrotta scored for the Pride (3-6-1, 0-1 CC).

Jack Thompson and Sam Woodworth scored twice for Messiah (9-0-1, 1-0) and Jordan Sands and Trevor Lee each added one of their own. Goalkeepers Jake Berry and Brandon West both made two saves.

Widener's next home game is on Wednesday as it takes on Haverford starting at 7:00 pm.
