Women's Soccer Handed 1-0 Loss at Wilkes

Widener gave up a late goal and had one disallowed for a tough 1-0 loss at Wilkes in Edwardsville, PA.

Katy Fissel scored for the Lady Colonels (3-1) in the 81st minute, getting a through ball from Alicia Roberts and putting a shot inside the right post.

Widener (2-3-1) looked like it had the equalizer in the 88th minute from senior Brittany Harvis (Delran, NJ), but the visitors were called for offsides.

Harvis and sophomore Karen Thomas (Mullica Hill, NJ) had three shots apiece and junior Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) totaled eight saves for the Pride.

Fissel fired six shots and Sam Lindo amassed three saves for Wilkes.

Widener is home Thursday against Delaware Valley at 7:00 pm.
