Volleyball Goes 2-for-2 on Day One of the Knights Invitational

(vs. Wesley) / (vs. Bryn Mawr)

Widener opened play at the Knights Invitational in Aston, PA with a 3-0 victory (25-13, 25-13, 25-13) over Wesley and capped the day with a 3-0 triumph (25-12, 25-14, 25-15) win over Bryn Mawr.
 
Against Wesley, junior Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) had 14 kills, a .480 hitting percentage and 11 digs.  Senior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) notched 25 assists and junior Meghan Spence (Haverford, PA) recorded 21 digs.
 
Versus Bryn Mawr, DiMaria and senior Nicole Merton (Media, PA) had 10 kills apiece with senior Alectra Edison (Lancaster, CA) adding nine.  Ballew dished 36 assists and Spence contributed 19 digs.
 
Widener on Saturday faces DeSales for first place in Pool A, starting at noon.  It then will play at 4:00 pm in either the final or the third-place match.
