Men's Soccer Loses, 2-1, at Rosemont

Widener put up more shots than Rosemont, but suffered a 2-1 loss in Rosemont, PA.

Just 10 minutes into the game, Rosemont's Patrick McElroy put up the first goal of the game. At the 23-minute mark, senior captain Gareth Cooper (Royersford, Pa) answered with his own unassisted goal. Cooper dribbled his way through defenders and drilled it in from about five-yards out. With the game all tied, Rosemont (3-0) scored a goal at the 75 minute mark to take the lead and the win.

Cooper had four shots, Derek Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa) added two of his own and DJ DiPaola (Havertown, Pa) took three shots to try to keep the Pride (2-2) in the game.

Widener's next game is Wednesday at Swarthmore as part of the “320 Challenge.”
