Kate Dellinger (Wrightsville, PA) had 21 points and 10 rebounds with fellow sophomore Lil Carney (Narberth, PA) adding 17 points for Widener in a 65-43 Commonwealth Conference victory at Lycoming in Williamsport, PA.

Widener (12-2, 3-0 CC) pulled away with a 17-2 spurt in just over seven minutes for a 62-41 lead with 2:33 remaining.  Carney scored six points in that run with Dellinger and junior Lindsay Pepino (Oceanside, NY) adding four apiece.

Dellinger notched her second double-double in three games after getting 27 points and 19 rebounds December 28 at Wesley. Carney reached double figures for the seventh time this season.

Sophomore Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) ripped down a career-high 16 rebounds to go with nine points for the Pride, who cruised to a 58-42 rebounding edge that included 24-11 on the offensive boards. Sophomore Francesca Lee (Hainesport, NJ) contributed nine points.

Rachael Scheller scored 13 points and Kaitlyn Ober added 11 for the Warriors (5-8, 1-2), who were limited to a mere 25 percent shooting (14-of-56) from the floor that included 2-of-14 from 3-point range.

The Pride are 3-0 in league play for the first time since 1999-2000, the final season of the Middle Atlantic Conference before it split. They also are 6-1 against Lycoming since the latter joined the Commonwealth Conference in 2007-08.

Widener next Wednesday visits Albright for a 6:00 pm contest in Reading, PA.
