Widener gave its best, but was dealt a 3-0 defeat (19-25, 25-27, 17-25) by Ursinus in Collegeville, PA.
Junior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) dished 18 assists for Widener (1-5) and freshman Maggie Greenberg (Meadowbrook, PA) added 13. Sophomore Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) recorded 18 digs, Ballew chipped in 11 and sophomore Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) closed with 10. Junior Nicole Merton (Media, PA) finished with 10 kills and DiMaria contributed nine.
Elizabeth Roth totaled 35 assists, 10 digs, and a .455 hitting percentage for the Bears (4-2). Anahi McIntyre closed had 10 kills and a .500 hitting percentage with Kristin Hanratty notching 16 digs.
Widener on Friday travels to Ithaca, NY to face St. John Fisher at 3:00 pm and Union at 5:00 pm in the Bomber Invitational.
