Volleyball Handed 3-0 Loss at Swarthmore

Widener had a tough go of it at Swarthmore and was dealt a 3-0 loss (15-25, 19-25, 21-25).

The Garnet (4-1) took control with a .405 hitting percentage in game one, thanks to a 19-8 kills edge. The Pride (1-4) had just a .083 percentage.

Junior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) dished 22 assists and sophomore Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) contributed 11 digs for Widener. Freshman Heather Long (Ephrata, PA) had eight kills, Nicole Merton (Media, PA) recorded seven and fellow junior Alectra Edison (Lancaster, CA) added six.

Genny Pezzola pounded 16 kills, Allison Coleman notched 33 assists with Lisa Shang and Danielle Sullivan recording 16 digs apiece.

Widener on Wednesday visits Ursinus for a 7:00 pm start.
