Volleyball Takes Two at Penny Fall Classic

Widener captured the Penny Fall Classic with a 3-2 victory (27-29, 25-16, 25-17, 19-25, 15-8) over Washington (MD) and a 3-0 triumph (25-16, 25-21, 25-21) over Kean in Chestertown, MD.

Against Washington (MD), junior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) had 46 assists and 22 digs with sophomore Angela DiMaria (Warminster, PA) notching 12 kills and 12 digs for Widener (11-8). Freshman Heather Long (Ephrata, PA) recorded 15 kills, sophomore Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) had 30 digs and senior Erin Gravelle (Media, PA) contributed 17.

Versus Kean, Ballew had 31 assists, Spence posted 13 digs, Long notched 10 kills with DiMaria adding nine and nine digs.

Widener on Wednesday hosts Lycoming in a Commonwealth Conference match. First serve is at 7:00 pm.
