Volleyball Handed 3-0 Loss at Lebanon Valley

Widener's second straight attempt at an upset over Lebanon Valley was not to be in a 3-0 Commonwealth Conference loss (23-25, 23-25, 19-25) in Annville, PA.
 
The Pride (8-8, 1-1 CC) in game two notched a .263 hitting percentage with 16 kills, but could not overcome a strong .306 percentage from the Dutchmen (9-2, 2-0). Widener was hurt with just a .122 percentage in the finale.
 
Junior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) had 34 kills and sophomore Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) added 18 digs. Sophomore Angela DiMaria (Warminster, PA), the reigning conference Player of the Week, amassed 12 kills and nine digs with junior Alectra Edison (Lancaster, CA) adding nine kills.
 
Emily Hopkins had 12 kills, Joelle Snyder totaled 11 and Emily Perkins dished 34 assists for the Dutchmen. Angela Kuperavage closed with 16 digs.
 
Widener last year stunned Lebanon Valley in Chester, handing the visitors its only conference setback.
 
Widener on Thursday visits Cabrini, beginning at 7:00 pm in Radnor, PA.
