Volleyball Splits a Pair at the Bomber Invitational

(at Ithaca) / (vs. Baptist Bible)

Widener dropped a 3-1 contest (30-28, 20-25, 12-25, 17-25) to host Ithaca before earning a 3-1 victory (25-9, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19) over Baptist Bible at the Bomber Invitational in Ithaca, NY.

Against Ithaca, junior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) finished with 25 assists and 21 digs, Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) contributed 23 digs, and fellow sophomore Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) ended with seven kills and 21 digs.

Versus Baptist Bible, Ballew dished 38 assists and had 22 digs, Spence closed with 23 digs and DiMaria added 13. DiMaria also finished with 18 kills, junior Nicole Merton (Media, PA) recorded nine and freshman Heather Long (Ephrata, PA) notched eight.

DiMaria was named to the all-tournament team for Widener, which finished second overall out of nine teams.

Widener on Wednesday hosts Elizabethtown in the Commonwealth Conference opener beginning at 7:00 pm.
