Volleyball Gets Back on Track With Two Wins at Bomber Invitational

(vs. St. John Fisher) / (vs. Union)

Widener rolled to two victories at the Bomber Invitational, posting a 3-0 triumph (25-19, 25-17, 25-20) over St. John Fisher and a 3-0 win (25-20, 25-17, 29-27) against Union in Ithaca, NY.
 
The Pride (3-5) against St. John Fisher got 18 digs from Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) and 10 from fellow sophomore Jennifer Mastantoni (Horsham, PA). Junior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) notched 26 assists to go with six digs and sophomore Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) pounded seven kills.
 
Junior Nicole Merton (Media, PA) and freshman Heather Long (Ephrata, PA) posted six kills apiece with junior Alectra Edison (Lancaster, CA) and sophomore Shauna Phillips (Dallas, PA) getting five each.
 
Against Union, Ballew went on a tear with 35 assists, 17 digs and four aces. Spence totaled 24 digs, DiMaria notched 12 kills, Long had seven and Edison recorded six for the Pride, which won Pool B in the three-pool, nine-team tournament.
 
Widener advances to the championship bracket on Saturday against opponents to be determined. The matches take place at 11:00 am and 1:15 pm.
