Kate Dellinger (Wrightsville, PA) posted career highs of 27 points and 19 rebounds in leading Widener to its ninth straight win, 72-70 at Wesley to open the Wesley Shootout in Dover, DE
Dellinger shot 9-for-11 from the line and hauled in eight offensive rebounds as the Pride (11-1) matched their best start in school history, set during the 1976-77 season. She topped her previous highs of 23 points on December 4 against Messiah and 11 rebounds accomplished twice last season.
Francesca Lee (Hainesport, NJ) had 13 points and 10 rebounds with fellow sophomore
Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) adding 10 points and a career-best 14 rebounds for Widener. Freshman
Alyssa Wiggins (Swedesboro, NJ) scored 10 points for the Pride, who shot 35 percent (26-of-74) from the field.
Cory Boyd poured in 21 points and Jazmine Miller added 18 for Wesley (5-4), which shot 39 percent (29-of-66) from the field but had its four-game winning streak snapped.
Widener on Wednesday plays No. 6 Williams in the final at 4:00 pm.
