Men's Soccer Suffers 2-0 Loss at Lebanon Valley

Widener held Lebanon Valley scoreless for nearly 78 minutes, but was done in by two late goals and closed out its season with a 2-0 Commonwealth Conference defeat in Annville, PA.
 
Lebanon Valley earned an 8-4 shots edge in the first half, but could not manage to solve Widener freshman goalkeeper Jakub Valdner (Bratislava, Slovakia), who made three saves in the period.
 
George Andriko got the hosts on the board with a penalty kick at the 77:45 mark. Less than six minutes later, Chris Hall fired one of his game-high three shots past Valdner for the final. Kelly Hess assisted on the insurance goal.
 
The Dutchmen (9-7-1, 3-3-1 CC) outshot Widener 16-9 in the contest, and earned six of the game's seven corner kicks.
 
Valdner finished with seven saves for the Pride (4-12-3, 0-5-2). Sophomore DJ DiPaola (Havertown, PA), and freshmen Derek Brubaker (Lancaster, PA) and Anthony Pezzotti (Newtown Square, PA) each took two shots.
 
James Clements made five saves for Lebanon Valley.
