Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight, 3-0 Over Scranton

Widener rolled in the first two sets before rallying in the third for a 3-0 triumph (25-16, 25-11, 25-22) over Scranton at Schwartz Center.

Widener (20-11) went on a tear in the second set with 10 kills to just five for Scranton (13-16). The Pride in the third set rallied from deficits of 16-12 and 22-20, scoring the last five points of the match.

Sophomore Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) had 23 digs with senior Erin Gravelle (Media, PA) and freshman Stephanie Schutt (Tucson, AZ) notching 11 apiece. Junior Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) served 28 assists with sophomore Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) getting eight kills and eight digs.

Marissa Every had 17 digs, Jenell McFadden notched 13 and Michaela McCrudden contributed 10 for the Royals. Emily Keim closed with 10 assists.

Widener clinched its eighth 20-win season in school history and the victory was the program's 399th all-time.

Widener on Wednesday closed its Commonwealth Conference regular season at Arcadia. Match time is 7:00 pm.
