Men's Soccer Ends Scoreless at Alvernia

Widener finished with a comfortable shots edge and had five shots in the overtimes, but played to a 0-0 Commonwealth Conference tie at Alvernia in Reading, PA.
 
The Pride, who closed with a 19-12 shots advantage, saw sophomore DJ DiPaola (Havertown, PA) and junior Gareth Cooper (Royersford, PA) each have a shot in the first overtime that was saved by Drew Gilbert.
 
Junior Dan Lorenzet (Forest Hill, MD) had two of Widener's three shots in the second overtime, but none could find the back of the net.
 
Lorenzet, Anthony Pezzotti (Newtown Square, PA) and fellow freshman Emmette Kemokai (Upper Darby, PA) had four shots each for the Pride (4-10-3, 0-4-2 CC). Junior Ryan Frantz (Marlton, NJ) made three saves.
 
Morgan Davidheiser fired three shots and Gilbert came up with 11 saves for the Crusaders (8-6-2, 2-3-1).
 
Widener on Tuesday visits DeSales for a 3:00 pm start in Center Valley, PA.
