Widener split two matches in the Middle Atlantic Conference Crossover, dropping a 3-2 contest (28-26, 22-25, 25-27, 25-22, 10-15) to FDU-Florham before a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-20, 25-20) over Wilkes in Grantham, PA.
Widener (13-9) against FDU-Florham (16-6) rallied from a 16-2 deficit in the first set for the win. But the squad could not hold on to an 8-7 cushion in the fifth set and had its four-match winning streak snapped.
The Pride had no trouble with Wilkes (8-11), committing just five errors and notching an impressive .258 hitting percentage.
Ballew posted 20 assists and 12 digs with junior Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) recording 12 kills. Spence and senior Erin Gravelle (Media, PA) had 11 digs apiece.
Widener on Tuesday visits Alvernia for a 7:00 pm start in Reading, PA.
