Widener registered the first shot on goal in overtime, but could not hold off Arcadia and was dealt a 1-0 overtime Commonwealth Conference defeat in Glenside, PA.
Freshman Anthony Pezzotti (Newtown Square, PA) had Widener's best chance of the game in the 97th minute when he forced Arcadia goalkeeper Ryan Lantzy to make his only save of the day.
After Jeff McDonald hit the post for Arcadia just over a minute and a half later, Dean Search gathered the rebound and buried it in the right side of the net at the 97:51 mark.
Pezzotti and sophomore DJ DiPaola (Havertown, PA) took two shots each for the Pride (4-8-2, 0-2-1 CC) and junior Ryan Frantz (Marlton, NJ) made three saves.
Nick Morris took five shots for the Knights (7-6, 2-1), who outshot Widener, 14-7.
Widener on Saturday travels to Grantham, PA for a Commonwealth Conference game with No. 10 Messiah, beginning at 6:00 pm.
