Widener permitted two second-half goals and was on the wrong end of a 3-2 Commonwealth Conference game against Elizabethtown at Edith R. Dixon Field.
Brenna Noon tallied in the seventh minute for the Blue Jays (7-2, 1-0 CC) to open the scoring. Widener (4-3, 0-1) tied it in the 21st minute, getting a goal from Natalie Gifford (Morton, PA) off a feed from fellow sophomore Colleen Cormier (Westampton, NJ).
The Pride grabbed a 2-1 lead four minutes later with Cormier finding the back of the cage and senior Jessica Gonzalez (Eastampton, NJ) notching the assist.
But Elizabethtown leveled it in the 45th minute as Grimes scored for a 2-2 match. Katy Boone ended the scoring in the 62nd minute on her third goal of the season.
Grimes closed with four shots for the Blue Jays, who posted a 10-3 advantage. Liz Hannegan made one save.
Cormier finished with two shots and junior Megan Purcell (Perkasie, PA) had four saves for the Pride.
Widener on Saturday hosts William Paterson at 1:00 pm.
