Despite Widener holding a drastic shots edge in the overtime, the squad played to a 0-0 tie at Neumann in Aston, PA.
The Pride (3-4-2) owned an 8-1 shots advantage in the extra sessions, including 6-0 over the final 10 minutes. For the game, junior Brian James (Perkasie, PA) closed with eight of his team's 17 shots.
Senior Hamed Correa (Cali, Colombia) made three saves for Widener, all in regulation.
Andy Attah had six shots for the Knights (3-3-1), who also ended with 17 shots. Bob Mastrillo made 10 saves, including two in the second overtime.
This marks the third straight year the squads have gone to overtime. Widener won last season after Neumann prevailed in 2007.
Widener on Wednesday hosts Cabrini at 7:00 pm as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. The women at 4:00 pm host FDU-Florham.
