Volleyball Drops 3-0 Match at Lebanon Valley in Conference Semifinals

Widener got out of the gates slowly and could not recover in a 3-0 loss (12-25, 22-25, 15-25) at Lebanon Valley in the Commonwealth Conference Tournament Semifinals in Annville, PA.

 

Top-seeded Lebanon Valley (30-2) set the tone early to overcome a regular-season loss to Widener.  The Dutchmen had an impressive 20 kills in the first set to just six for the Pride and notched a strong .389 hitting percentage versus .100 for the visitors.

 

Lebanon Valley ended with a 45-32 kills advantage and a .277 percentage.  It only committed 12 errors with half coming over the final two sets combined.

 

Freshman Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) had eight kills and sophomore Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) notched 27 assists for the fourth-seeded Pride (21-15).  Ballew also recorded nine digs with senior Duong Lau (Upper Darby, PA) adding nine.

 

Joelle Snyder posted 13 kills with Emily Hopkins adding 11 for the Dutchmen.  Emily Perkins dished 40 assists, Michelle Little had 13 digs and Angela Kuperavage amassed 12.

 

Widener will wait to see if it receives a bid into the ECAC South Tournament.
