Freshman Nicole Nardone (Garwood, NJ) scored to break a second-half tie, lifting Widener to a 3-2 victory at Delaware Valley in Doylestown, PA.

Jessica Gonzalez (Eastampton, NJ) scored 78 seconds into the game and fellow senior Ellen Etzweiler (Landisville, PA) tallied early in the second half, giving Widener a 2-0 lead.

Bethany Pavlik and Mindy Miniconzi found the back of the cage two minutes apart for the Aggies (7-6) and a 2-2 tie with 16:05 left.  Nardone came through on the winner with 13:43 remaining, netting her third goal of the season and second game-winner off a penalty corner from Etzweiler.

Widener (6-3) closed with an 18-9 shots edge, including 11-4 in the second half, for its third victory in the last five outings.

Widener on Saturday hosts Albright on Saturday as part of “Breast Cancer Awareness Day.”  All fans at the 1:00 pm game are asked to wear pink.
