Widener received a balanced attack in posting its fourth consecutive win, a 3-0 (25-12, 25-7, 25-20) Commonwealth Conference victory over Alvernia at Schwartz Center.

Widener (16-7, 3-1 CC) left no doubt in the second set with 10 kills and no errors over 12 attacks for an .833 hitting percentage.  Freshman Chelsea Hoeffler (Cranford, NJ) had three kills in the set over four attacks.

Hoeffler ended with five kills and just one error over seven attacks for a .571 percentage.  Senior Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) had four kills with sophomore Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) recording 14 assists.

Senior Duong Lau (Upper Darby, PA) had nine digs and freshman Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) added five for the Pride, who ended with 25 kills and just 15 errors.

It is Widener's third four-match winning streak of the year and ninth victory in its last 11 matches.

Diane Lightner and Alyssa Soltis had five kills and six digs apiece for the Crusaders (0-19, 0-4).  Ashley Kutcher closed with 12 assists.

Widener plays its next seven matches on the road, beginning Saturday at the DeSales Tri-Match.  The squad plays the host at 10:00 am and Franklin & Marshall at noon.
