Larissa Gillespie Records 100th Victory as Coach

(boxscore)

Widener had five different goal scorers and rolled to its fourth straight victory, 8-1 at Gwynedd-Mercy in Gwynedd Valley, PA.

Junior Megan Scarpinato (Sewell, NJ), senior Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) and sophomore Colleen Cormier (Westampton, NJ) all scored twice for the Pride (8-3).  Senior Ellen Etzweiler (Landisville, PA) and freshman Olivia Burgese (Collegeville, PA) each tallied once.

Widener opened a 5-1 halftime lead by scoring on all its shots.  Scarpinato netted a pair in the first five minutes for all the goals the Pride would need.

The win was the 100th for coach Larissa Gillespie.  In her 10th season, the winningest coach in school history and former standout player for Widener is 100-68.
