Becky Tyler's First-Half Double-Double Lifts Women's Basketball to 81-47 Triumph at Penn State Brandywine

Junior Becky Tyler (Wynnewood, PA) had a double-double in first half, when Widener opened a 22-point lead in an 81-47 triumph at Penn State Brandywine in Media, PA.
 
Tyler had 13 points and 12 rebounds in the half for the Pride (10-5), who shot 44 percent (14-of-32) from the field in that stretch and held the Lady Lions to only 18 percent (6-of-33) for a 38-16 cushion.  The second team All-Commonwealth Conference Player from last season ended with 15 points and 12 rebounds over just 15 minutes for her first double-double of the season and sixth career.
 
Freshman Casey Pritz (Abington, PA), the reigning conference Player of the Week, compiled 11 points and 10 rebounds over 14 minutes for her sixth double-double and third in four games.
 
Sophomore Katie Gallagher (Defiance, OH) netted 11 off the bench for Widener, which shot 43 percent (27-of-63) overall and posted a 59-24 rebounding edge.
 
Deanna Gineitis scored 16 points and Tiesha Dunlap had 11 off the bench for the Lady Lions, who shot 30 percent (18-of-61) overall and were 1-of-11 from 3-point range.

Widener ends its three-game road trip Saturday at Elizabethtown at 2:00 pm. This precedes the men's contest between the schools at 4:00 pm.
