Widener closed play at the Blue Jay Classic by grabbing two matches in Elizabethtown, PA.

The Pride (15-5) began with a 3-1 victory (25-10, 23-25, 25-5, 25-20) over Lycoming before a 3-1 triumph (22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-21) against McDaniel.

The match against Lycoming was a non-Commonwealth Conference event.  Freshman Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) ended with 33 assists, nine digs and three aces.  Julieanne Gryn (Springfield, PA) closed with 14 digs, fellow junior Duong Lau (Upper Darby, PA) had 13, and freshmen Rachel Lambert (Glenmore, PA) and Nicole Merton (Media, PA) notched eight kills apiece.

These teams square off in a league match October 21 in Chester, PA.

Versus McDaniel, Ballew had 34 assists and 10 digs with senior Ashley Varallo (Havertown, PA) notching 12 digs.  Senior Meghan Fitzsimmons (Lancaster, NY) had 11 digs with junior Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) posting 10 kills and eight aces.

Widener on Wednesday hits the road for a conference tilt at Lebanon Valley, beginning at 7:00 in Annville, PA.
