Freshman Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) dished 23 assists and junior Danielle Wetling (Upper Darby, PA) had nine kills for Widener in a 3-0 Commonwealth Conference victory (25-18, 25-23, 25-17) over Messiah at Schwartz Center.

Ballew's torrid run also included five digs and three block assists for Widener (13-3, 2-0 CC), which has won six of its last seven matches.  Wetling had only three errors over 17 attacks for a .353 hitting percentage.

Duong Lau (Upper Darby, PA) had 10 digs, fellow junior Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) recorded eight kills and freshman Rachel Lambert (Glenmore, PA) notched six.  Green and junior Julieanne Gryn (Springfield, PA) closed with seven digs apiece.

Meghan Morrissey had 18 digs and Lauren Bourdon added 18 assists for the Falcons (8-4, 0-2).

Widener this weekend takes part at the Blue Jay Classic in Elizabethtown, PA.  The squad on Friday faces St. Mary's (MD) at 2:30 pm and Carnegie Mellon at 6:30 pm.
