Men's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at Wesley

(boxscore)

Sophomore Justin Hovaker (Pasadena, MD) scored his team-leading second goal of the season for Widener in a 1-1 draw at Wesley in Dover, DE.

Widener opened the scoring with 1:38 left in the first half as Hovaker received a pass from freshman Preston Dudley (Grasonville, MD) and buried it.

But Wesley evened things in the 73rd minute as Widener permitted an own goal and the match proceeded into overtime.

Widener (2-4-2) owned a 24-14 edge in shots, but had to fend off a 6-4 advantage by Wesley (3-3-1) in the extra sessions.

Sophomore Brian James (Perkasie, PA) fired six shots, Hovaker had five and junior Marty Squicciarini (Lansdale, PA) made six saves.

Nick Talarico had 11 saves for the Wolverines.

Widener is home Wednesday against DeSales, beginning at 7:00 pm at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.
