Widener won two of its three matches at the Osprey Classic in Pomona, NJ.

The Pride (11-3) opened with a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-14, 25-12) over Gwynedd-Mercy before a 3-1 loss (12-25, 22-25, 25-23, 14-25) to host Richard Stockton.  They ended the day with a 3-0 rout (25-7, 25-10, 25-10) of Penn State Abington.

Against Gwynedd-Mercy, junior Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) notched 10 kills, freshman Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) recorded 20 assists and senior Ashley Varallo (Havertown, PA) added nine digs.

Versus Richard Stockton, Ballew had 27 assists and 15 digs with freshman Rachel Lambert (Glenmore, PA) notching 12 kills.  Junior Julieanne Gryn (Springfield, PA) posted 14 digs and Varallo added 12.

In the finale, Green rolled to 11 kills and just one error over 15 attempts for a .667 hitting percentage.  Freshman Aimee Wilder (Tunkhannock, PA) recorded 18 assists and Ballew contributed 11.

Widener opens Commonwealth Conference play Wednesday at Arcadia, beginning at 7:00 pm in Glenside, PA.
