Widener swept both of its matches on day two of the ASICS Invitational in Baltimore, MD.
The Pride began with a 3-0 triumph (25-22, 25-16, 25-20) over Goucher and ended with a 3-2 victory (25-18, 19-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-13) against Geneva.
Against Goucher, sophomore
Danielle Wetling (Upper Darby, PA) had 11 kills and junior
Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) notched seven. Freshman
Jamie Ballew (Media, PA) dished 24 assists and junior
Julieanne Gryn (Springfield, PA) totaled 17 digs.
In the second match, Wetling notched 19 kills, Green had 10 and freshman
Rachel Lambert (Glenmore, PA) amassed nine. Ballew posted 41 assists and 19 digs, junior
Duong Lau (Upper Darby, PA) totaled 23 digs and sophomore
Val Nagle (Pine Grove, PA) added 18.
Green was named to the all-tournament team after finishing with 34 kills, 12 digs, 15 blocks, four aces and a .345 hitting percentage over four matches.
Widener is home Wednesday against Immaculata, beginning at 7:00 pm.
