9/6/07 -- Senior Jaime Carr (Norristown, PA) notched a hat trick and junior Erica Rose (Plymouth Meeting, PA) scored twice for Widener in a 6-2 victory over Swarthmore at Edith R. Dixon Field.
Carr scored twice in the first 7:09 to give the Pride a 2-0 lead. The first team All-Commonwealth Conference and second team all-region pick from last year put in her own rebound both times.
Senior Colleen Guille (Springfield, PA) scored off a penalty corner from sophomore Ellen Etzweiler (Landisville, PA) for a 3-0 margin in the 16th minute.
Rose tallied consecutive goals for a 5-1 lead before Carr closed the scoring the 59th minute. Carr with her last goal bumped her career point total to 96, breaking the previous mark of 95 held by Jenny Garell (1998-2001).
Sophomore Kelly Eash (Glenolden, PA) had a pair of assists for the Pride (1-0), who ended with a 22-11 shots edge.
Sophomore Katie Jensen (Center Valley, PA) made eight saves in her first collegiate start and Carr had four shots.
Abigail Fisher and Hoa Pham each tallied for the Garnet (1-1).
Widener is home Saturday to host Arcadia at 12:00 pm.
