9/5/07 -- Freshman Caryinna Yenchak (Ashley, PA) scored twice and added an assist for Widener, which won its second straight with a 6-0 victory at Neumann in Aston, PA.
Senior Sam Hand (Millville, NJ) scored the only goal the Pride (2-1) would need in the 15th minute off a feed from sophomore Sam Baer (Lancaster, PA). Yenchak tallied in the 28th minute off a pass from sophomore Sarah Schaffer (Deptford, NJ) and freshman Valisha Andrus (Pemberton, NJ) found the back of the net three minutes later thanks to Yenchak's helper.
Baer, Yenchak and freshman Christine Langelier (Bellingham, MA) all scored in the second half for the Pride, which ended with a 23-4 shots edge. Hand closed with two assists and has five points over her last two contests.
Baer is on a roll with four goals and an assist for nine points over her last two contests.
Freshman Rochele Jacobs (Northfield, NJ) notched two saves for Widener as she shared the shutout with sophomore Alee Gunter (Maple Shade, NJ).
Caitlin Agnew made 11 saves and Casey Geary took two shots for the Knights (0-3).
Widener on Saturday opens a nine-game homestand against Centenary, beginning at 2:00 pm at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.
