9/29/07 -- Widener saw its school-record winning streak come to an end with a 3-1 loss at 13th-ranked Montclair State.

Lauren Zehnder scored an unassisted marker for the Red Hawks (9-1) in the 11th minute for a 1-0 lead. Rebecca Dobiesz tallied in the 26th minute and Deana Hagel followed suit four minutes later for a 3-0 margin.

Senior Colleen Guille (Springfield, PA) found the back of the net on a penalty stroke in the 45th minute for the Pride, who were on the wrong end of a 19-16 shots margin.

Freshman Megan Purcell (Perkasie, PA) made 10 saves with Guille and senior Mallory Meyer (Lansdowne, PA) taking five shots apiece for Widener (8-1).

Jacquie Supko had 10 saves for Montclair State.

The Pride are still off to their best start in school history despite their first loss in more than 10 months.

Widener looks to rebound Tuesday at home against Cabrini, beginning at 7:00 pm.
