Kelly Eash's Six-Point Game Helps Field Hockey to 8-0 Blanking of Richard Stockton

9/26/07 -- Sophomore Kelly Eash (Glenolden, PA) had two goals and two assists for Widener, which kept its record unblemished with an 8-0 rout of Richard Stockton at Edith R. Dixon Field.

Eash had a goal and an assist during the first half as Widener opened a 4-0 lead. Mallory Meyer (Lansdale, PA), fellow senior Jaime Carr (Norristown, PA) and sophomore Brittany Dippolito (Pennsauken, NJ) all scored in the period.

Widener (8-0) doubled its lead in the second half with Eash and Meyer scoring again. Sophomore Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) and freshman Mellany Broomall (Clarksboro, NJ) also tallied after intermission.

Carr, senior Colleen Guille (Springfield, PA) and junior Trina Menta (Broomall, PA) had assists for Widener, which posted a 23-1 shots edge in the opening half and 33-4 overall.

Freshman Megan Purcell (Perkasie, PA) and sophomore Katie Jensen (Center Valley, PA) each played 35 minutes in net for the Pride, totaling one save apiece.

Samantha Horner had two shots and Debi O'Kane made 22 saves for the Ospreys (1-7).

This marks the third time in two years Widener has tallied eight goals in a game. The squad notched an 8-2 victory over Arcadia on September 9, 2006 and an 8-0 triumph vs. Drew on October 28, 2006. It is the third time this season the Pride have netted at least six goals.

Widener on Saturday hits the road to face No. 13 Montclair State, beginning at 1:00 pm.
