10/26-27/07 -- Senior Kim Brady (Pottstown, PA) and sophomore Julieanne Gryn (Springfield, PA) each were named to the all-tournament team for Widener, which won three times at the Messiah Invitational in Grantham, PA.
Widener on Friday notched a 3-2 victory (30-27, 26-30, 30-15, 27-30, 15-9) over Moravian and a 3-1 triumph (30-21, 24-30, 30-16, 30-28) against Susquehanna. The squad on Saturday posted a 3-1 win (25-30, 30-23, 30-19, 30-26) over Goucher before a 3-0 loss (13-30, 27-30, 27-30) against SUNY Cortland.
Brady ended the Moravian match with 23 kills and just two errors over 42 attacks for a .500 hitting percentage. Gryn had 37 digs, sophomore Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) posted 17 kills and senior Becky Rohrbaugh (Railroad, PA) dished 53 assists.
Against Susquehanna, Brady pounded 23 kills and senior Rachel Chizmadia (Saline, MI) ended with 15 and 15 digs. Gryn notched 24 digs and Rohrbaugh had 51 assists.
Rohrbaugh against Goucher closed with 41 assists and 14 digs. Green notched 13 kills, Brady had 12 and Gryn amassed 22 digs.
Gryn finished the SUNY Cortland match with 28 digs, junior Meghan Fitzsimmons (Lancaster, NY) totaled 15 digs and Rohrbaugh had 30 assists.
Brady closed the weekend with 66 kills and just 15 errors for a .331 percentage. Gryn ended with 111 digs.
Widener on Wednesday visits top-seeded Elizabethtown in the Commonwealth Conference semifinals. First serve is at 7:00 pm.
