10/25/07 -- Senior Arlene Lowthert (Prospect Park, PA) scored for Widener, but it was not enough in a 5-1 Commonwealth Conference loss at No. 10 Messiah in Grantham, PA.

Lindsey Hunter and Nikki Bailey scored in the first eight minutes for the Falcons (11-4, 3-1 CC). Lindsey Garber and Lisa Strausbaugh also tallied in the first half and Katie Love scored in the second half.

Lowthert's second goal of the year came off a feed from sophomore Jessica Gonzalez (Eastampton, NJ) for the Pride (12-5, 1-3).

Freshman Megan Purcell (Perkasie, PA) made eight saves and sophomore Kelly Eash (Glenolden, PA) attempted five shots for Widener.

Ashley Mowery made eight saves and Love took four shots for Messiah.

Widener will wait to see if it receives a bid into the ECAC Tournament.
