10/2/07 -- Jaime Carr (Norristown, PA) scored twice and fellow senior Mallory Meyer (Lansdowne, PA) had two assists for Widener, 4-0 winners over Cabrini at Edith R. Dixon Field.
Carr scored the only goal Widener (9-1) would need in the seventh minute, redirecting home a pass from Meyer. Junior Erica Rose (Plymouth Meeting, PA) netted her fifth of the year in the ninth minute from Meyer for a 2-0 lead.
Sophomore Kelly Eash (Glenolden, PA) found the back of the cage in the 22nd minute for her fourth tally of the year off a pass from sophomore Ellen Etzweiler (Landisville, PA) for a 3-0 margin. Freshman Megan Scarpinato (Sewell, NJ) in the 50th minute fired a long pass for Carr, who slapped it in on the fly for her league-leading 15th goal of the year to close the scoring.
Freshman Megan Purcell (Perkasie, PA) made seven saves and four players had three shots for Widener, which ended with a 16-8 shots advantage.
Caitlin Donahue had 11 saves and Melissa Benedetti closed with four shots for the Cavaliers (2-9).
Widener is back home Thursday against Philadelphia Biblical, beginning at 7:00 pm.
