10/16/07 -- Widener clinched its first trip to the Commonwealth Conference Tournament and first berth in a league tournament since 1999 with a 3-0 victory (30-17, 30-18, 30-18) over Lycoming at Schwartz Center.
Becky Rohrbaugh (Railroad, PA) dished 33 assists with fellow senior Kim Brady (Pottstown, PA) and sophomore Devan Green (Monroe Center, IL) pounding nine kills apiece.
Sophomore Julieanne Gryn (Springfield, PA) had 13 digs with Rohrbaugh and senior Rachel Chizmadia (Saline, MI) adding eight apiece. Chizmadia, junior Meghan Fitzsimmons (Lancaster, NY) and sophomore Danielle Wetling (Upper Darby, PA) each recorded six kills.
The Pride (12-15, 2-2 CC) are headed to a league tournament for the first time since competing in the Middle Atlantic Conference Tournament eight seasons ago.
The Pride on Saturday take part in their annual home tri-match. Widener hosts Swarthmore at 10:00 am and FDU-Florham at 2:00 pm on Senior Day. Swarthmore battles FDU-Florham at 12:00 noon.
