10/16/07 -- Widener gave its best against a talented squad in second-ranked Messiah in a 2-0 Commonwealth Conference setback at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

Nick Thompson scored twice for the Falcons (13-2, 3-0 CC). His first goal came in the sixth minute on a header off a corner kick from Ben Jordan. The second occurred in the 64th minute as he booted home a cross from Patrick Lenehan.

Sophomore Marty Squicciarini (Lansdale, PA) made four saves for the Pride (7-8, 1-1 CC).

Kai Kasiguran and Geoff Pezon took four shots apiece for Messiah.

Widener on Saturday visits Elizabethtown for a 4:30 pm match.
