10/10/07 -- Widener was handed a 5-2 loss at 13th-ranked Rowan in Glassboro, NJ.

The Profs (7-4) opened a 4-0 lead over the first 38 minutes. Danielle Miranda scored twice with Rachel Cheafsky and Susan Massara also tallying. Amanda Green closed with two assists in that span.

Senior Jaime Carr (Norristown, PA) netted her Commonwealth Conference leading 19th goal in the 43th minute for a 4-1 contest and junior Erica Rose (Plymouth Meeting, PA) tallied with 2:31 left. Green ended the scoring with eight seconds remaining.

Freshman Megan Purcell (Perkasie, PA) closed with 13 saves for the Pride (10-2).

Miranda had eight shots and Amanda Cucinotti ended with two saves for Rowan.

Widener on Saturday faces Elizabethtown in both teams conference opener. Game time at Dixon Field is 1:00 pm.
