Joseph V. Carter Jr. (‘65) was one of the most versatile and accomplished student-athletes of the PMC era. A 12- time letterwinner across four sports—football, wrestling, track and field, and baseball—Carter’s impact was felt across the entire athletic department. On the football field, Carter was a four-time All-MAC selection and earned All-ECAC honors in 1962. He served as co-captain in 1964 and named the PMC Outstanding Player that same year. His standout performance in the 1964 Boardwalk Bowl, where he amassed 329 all-purpose yards, earned him MVP honors. Following his collegiate career, Carter continued his involvement in football as an assistant coach at PMC and played at the semi-professional level. His legacy as one of the most dynamic athletes in schoolhistory continues to endure.
