Chris Haupt was named Widener's 2012-13 Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year
Haupt had a solid career in which he also left his mark in the record books, especially this season in helping the Pride (11-1, 8-0 MAC) advance to the “Elite Eight” of the NCAA Tournament and winning its league record 19th MAC title. He was tabbed second team All-America by the Beyond Sports College Network, Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, ECAC South Offensive Player of the Year as well as being named first team All-MAC a second consecutive season. He was ninth in the country with 318.92 passing yards per game, eighth with 333.92 yards of total offense per contest and second with 38 touchdown passes.
In concluding a standout career, Haupt ends with 9,907 passing yards, 88 touchdown passes, 13 300-yard passing contests, 26 200-yard passing games and 10,256 yards of total offense that are all school records. He also broke the school's single-season record with 3,827 yards passing, 4,007 yards of total offense, 38 touchdown passes, seven 300-yard passing games and 11 200-yard passing contests.
Haupt in 2011 was a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy as the nation's most outstanding Division III football player and was the only junior among the final 10.
