Josey Shaffer enters her first season with Widener Women's Lacrosse in 2025-26.
Shaffer is currenty a member of the IWLCA Aspire Program, making her the second coach in Widener history to be selected.
Prior to joining the Pride, Shaffer spent 2024-25 with Lock Haven University as Volunteer Assistant Coach. While at Lock Haven Shaffer helped design and create game day graphics using BoxOut, actively recruited in the President’s Cup while using EventBeacon to follow prospective athletes, and recorded CARA hours using ARMS to ensure NCAA compliance and regulations were met.Â
From January to May 2024, Shaffer did a Lacrosse Internship where she developed game day itineraries, coordinated team travel logistics, schedules, travel plans, and event preparations, while also analyzing game footage for the team’s Hudl platform.
As a student-athlete at Lock Haven University, Shaffer led the Bald Eagles as a two-year team captain. During her four years, Shaffer would earn a 2024 selection to the PSAC First Team All-Conference and a 2023 PSAC Second Team All-Conference selection. Her academics would be awarded with a selection to the CSC Academic All-District and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll selection. On the field, Shaffer helped control the midfield with 89 career goals, 26 assists, and 155 draw controls.Â
Shaffer graduated from Lock Haven University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Concentration in Health and Physical Education. Shaffer is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sport and Performance Psychology from Lock Haven University.Â
