Tyler Williams enters his second season as assistant coach of the Widener track and field programs. He will assist the program in the throwing events. He is the current school record holder in the weight throw and the hammer throw. His weight throw record of 61'-10.25" was set on January 30th, 2015, while he recorded a school best throw of 216'-5" in the hammer throw on May 16, 2014.
He is a three-time Middle Atlantic Conference champion in the hammer throw, and a three-time NCAA All-American. Williams has competed at the NCAA Championships on five different occasions. In the classroom, he has earned the 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference Spring Scholar Athlete of the Year award, as well as the 2015 Philadelphia Inquirer Men's Track Athlete of the Year. Williams is also a third team 2014 CoSIDA Academic All-American selection.
In 2014, he was named the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Mideast Region Field Athlete of the year.
Williams graduated from Widener University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
