TJ Chism enters his third season at Widener and serves as the team's pitching coach. During his tenure, the Pride have been to two conference tournaments and one NCAA regional by capturing the MAC Commonwealth title in 2016.
Chism was drafted by the New York Mets in 2009, following an illustrious career at La Salle University and pitched for six years in the Mets organization, appearing in 201 career games, compiling a 2.78 ERA. Arguably his best season came in 2013 for the Saint Lucie Mets (Florida State League - Advanced-A) where he set career-highs in appearances (47), saves (20) and struck out 56 batters in 61.0 innings of work. He advanced as high as AA Binghamton in 2014.
