Joe Johnson

    Assistant Baseball Coach
Joe Johnson is in his fifth season as an assistant coach for the Pride, where he serves as the outfield and first base coach.

During his tenure at Widener, the Pride have reached the conference tournament in each season, including conference championships in 2014 & 2016. He arrived to Widener after serving as an assistant coach at Cardinal O’Hara High School, helping the squad to playoff berths each season.  Johnson also served as head coach of Springfield’s Cal Ripken Baseball team.  He guided the unit in 2010 to its first state and regional championship, which placed it in the Cal Ripken World series in Wilson County, N.C.. Johnson graduated Millersville University in 2007 in a B.S. in Business Management.
